Biswajit Sarmah


Biswajit Sarmah is a PhD candidate in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, and a Fulbright India Doctoral Research fellow at Binghamton University, working with Prof. Arnab Dey. In his dissertation, Park, People and Politics: An Environmental History of the Kaziranga National Park, he analyzes the contested political, environmental and cultural factors that made the park a ‘successful’ example of Greater One-horned Rhinoceros conservation over the last hundred years.
